As part of Berlin’s Art Week, the students at the Institute of Experimental Fashion and Textile Design from the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK) are presenting their projects in a fashion show/performance that challenges the notions of gender and creates opportunity for new body readings. Presented through a cast of performers, in which I’m included, and with choreographic guidance by Shade Théret, the projects break will break conventions both in body perceptions and fashion presentations. The evening is part of Haus der Kulturen der Welt’s larger event “Reading Bodies!: Crusing Corpoliteracy in Arts, Education and Everyday Life”. I’m thrilled to be able to collaborate in such a forward-thinking and relevant show!
